I don’t understand…
St. Patrick’s Day. I mean, I understand the history behind it. But I don’t understand the need to drink all day on St. Patrick’s Day. What is the point of it? Or is that the point, that there is no point? That it’s just an excuse to get drunk in the middle of the week.
I’ve only celebrated St. Patrick’s Day once: last year. And it wasn’t really a celebration as much as let’s go get a drink at the bar after class and then we came back, had dinner, and did homework. Wow, what a celebration.
If you want to go out and get drunk on St. Patrick’s Day, that is completely up to you. But just know that it doesn’t really have anything to do with being Irish. It’s just to get drunk. Which is ok. But also, don’t expect me to be out there with you every year. Don’t think I’m weird for not “celebrating” St. Patrick’s Day because I don’t understand the point of it.
Does anyone have any exciting plans for St. Patrick’s Day other than my early to bed plan?
