I’ve lived in Grand Rapids for almost 23 years now. Every year for the past 40 (?) years, the Festival of the Arts (or Festival as it is referred to here) has been hosted in downtown GR. I have never gone even though I’ve always meant to. I never really paid attention to when it was happening or I was out of town, etc. There always seemed to be some sort of excuse.
But this year I am going! They close down one of the main streets of downtown and line it with booths that serve delicious food. There are six stages where there are concerts, dance performances, children’s shows, poetry readings, etc. There are numerous activities to be done. I’m really excited that I am going to be going this Saturday. I just hope that it doesn’t rain as it is predicting right now. Rain would not be a fun thing to happen.
